first will kick your ass. How true is that, to learn something horrifying, knocking you for a loop, allowing, once your heart rises off the mat, to move on…lighter, reclaiming the bounce in your step.
We’re such tough, little creatures. You’ve heard me say, I don’t take a punch like I used to, but it isn’t so. I may bruise more taking longer for the swelling to go down, but rally to face another truth…humbling, empowering, rubbing a bit more tarnish off my scratched self-worth.
Truth, she rides in like an enemy, but leaves your dear friend.
and ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall set you free…John 8:32…translation… King James Bible.
but first will kick ye’s ass…translation…all those rising.

Stay strong, my friend. I like your addition to the Bible passage. Very true. Still, a hard truth is better than a soft lie (at least in the long run. 🙂 )

What a lovely phrase. Yes, soft lies do more damage.

Half of me says you’re right; the other half says there are things I would prefer not to know. Problem is, there is no-one (including me) who I would trust with the editing. So damned whatever.

It’s always been a favorite of mine. Trouble with truth is, it always comes out, no matter what. The longer it takes, the more hurt and shocked you are at its arrival. Better to know right away. Just my feeling.

Oh you are not kidding. The other one that will take you down is when your intuition tries to get your attention about the truth, but heaven forbid you listen…nope you just hope for the best and sit in silence when that intuition quietly says …told ya so.
Hope you feel better soon…it sucks.

I didn’t mean to imply I was doing poorly, but truths have been machine gunning right and left. It’s more an observation. The trick is to still stay standing regardless of what you learn.

Arm yourself with a baguette and march on is the motto for situations like those.

David Stewart said it best…soft lies. Really like that. Thanks for writing.

Sometimes we don’t know what the truth is and we never really find out. Congrats on 1300 posts! An accomplishment for sure.

1300 posts!!! Nice Susannah, quite the accomplishment. Yeah, it’s always better to be up front with people. However, fibbing can get in the way and often does.

Susannah, I love your line about truth. Is that an original line or is it a quote?
