Checked Out

My furry guests are gone, checking out at midnight, their father, fresh from LA, anxious to see them. It’s is sure quiet without the pitter patter of little paws.

To be quite frank, I was sorry to see Rocky and Coco go, even though their four-legged presence turned my world upside down.

Animals, as we know, are very noble.  Despite being uprooted for a week, Coco and Rocky adapted to me and my life with polite aplomb.

There was something sweet about waking up with them, their tiny eyes blinking, realizing, I’m a little anxious rising at 4 to be out by 5.  They would acknowledge me then go back to sleep knowing I’d be back to feed them, before taking them out.  If you show them care, they return it with confidence, patience and love.

So my hotel is closed till further notice.  If you had told me I’d be sad a week ago when I was such a wreck expecting the worst, I would have groaned.

Animals, they enter your heart even when you try locking the door, because love, always has the last say.

  2. That is such a lovely photo. You all look very content in each others company. Trust me when I tell you, taking these babies into the SB Hotel gave your friend a huge peace of mind too.

We had one of our grand dogs staying with us last week as well. It is always bittersweet to see them go home!

  6. I’m sure the hotel is only temporarily closed and will again have guests. This one has great room service!
