I’m neurotic by nature.
It comes from being on my own for so long. Having to cut and parry life’s many twists and turns single-handedly.
Toss in coming from an alcoholic home, and it’s a wonder, I don’t spend my life in a straightjacket.
Once in a 12 Step meeting, I heard a woman say, when she has a problem she can’t solve, in her mind, she puts it on top of the fridge till she can deal with it better.
I’ve taken it a step further, and for one whole day, collect all my troubles and put them out of my mind completely.
It really helps the rest of the week to be more manageable.
Hey, even God when he was creating the world, rested on Sundays. Who better, besides maybe a seasoned bookie, to take a tip from. 🙂

Not always easy, and my fridge is starting to dip. However, one can replace a fridge easier than a mind I suppose. 🙂

Hope you’re having a No Worry Sunday there in the Rockies of Connecticut 🙂

I like the idea of parking problems until you’re better able to attack them. And a restful Sunday has got to be a boon.

Too bad it wasn’t a week. Sigh

I like the idea of mentally stashing problems on top of the fridge. That’s where I keep my fly-swatter. Now it’ll have company.

I’m not so good at that. Call it Type A personality but I have to go after it. I remember taking a vacation with friends in the middle of a relationship crisis. The week was fun but the return back was always looming. I do like the concept though and should work on it.

Let me just say it’s a honed skill, but a worthy one. I’m a wreck most of the time. At around 11, Saturday night, I start to breathe easier knowing I’ll be lolling on Sunday’s sandbar in an hour. Go figure.

very true! I usually pull a Scarlet O’Hara, “I can’t think about that right now. If I do, I’ll go crazy. I’ll think about that tomorrow.” And for emphasis, I put my hand to my forehead in an attempt to be gentile….

Your ability to do that is an enviable skill. I can’t even shut down during 30 minutes of yoga, let alone a whole Sunday.

I just am so tormented on a daily basis. I need the respite from my own insanity.

Me too, but congratulations on your ability to override that on Sunday. Take a bow.
