Best Story of the Week…January 16th

It’s twilight as I make my way home after a putting in a pretty long day.

A guy coming the other way waves and says, “Someone is calling you.”

I turn, and there’s another guy, a real cutie, bundled in a peacoat and watch cap, walking a Golden Retriever.

My girl pops out when I stop and purr, “Can I help you with something?” And he says, “Well not me, but my dog has something for you.”

Unbeknownst to me, I had dropped a glove that Addie, though proud of her catch, is nice enough to return.

Oh well, at least my girl got out for a quick spin.ย  ๐Ÿ™‚

I'm just a girl who likes to write slightly on slant. I've had a career in fashion, dabbled in film and to be honest, I don't like talking about myself. 1. Wow! You make heads turn wherever you go. Well, it was your head that turned, but the eyes of men and dogs were on you.

PS: Just noticed no comment from you on the last beach walk about ballparks. Did you see it?

Two legs . . four legs . . you turn heads no matter the fella walking down the street.

You let your girl out – and that’s always a good thing.

  5. I had to laugh at the “girl out” thought. It is always fun to be on the receiving end of that result. I enjoyed the post, Susannah.

A gallant retriever comes to the rescue. As an added bonus, his faithful sidekick was a hottie. The hottie couldn’t have been too smart or he would have asked you for coffee.

  7. Doesn’t sound to me like your girl wasted her time.

  8. There is a dog obedience event called โ€œglove retrieval.โ€ As the name implies, the dog is directed to pick up random Indy lace gloves which and then returned to the person handler. It sounds simple though becomes is actually hard to train. You benefited from a dog who seems to have learned it all. This is a very cute story…well done.
