To Vote for Whom…That is the Question
Let’s hope.

All I can say is… I’m glad I’m Canadian!
We have our share of disliked polititians but man… you guys? I just don’t know how you do it.

This too shall pass. We hated Bush too, and now Ellen’s going to ballgames with him. i mean…there’s hope that Trump too will be relegated to an Old Timer’s Game.

Ellen is able to separate politics from people. It will be hard to put Trump in any favourable position…

This is true. I was being generous. Oh silly me.

We try to be open minded, fair, giving those who try a chance. I don’t know except, my country’s in trouble.

I do get that… And yes, that oaf in office has not put your country in a fabulous light. Good thing I don’t judge its residents by their leader

That’s kind of you not to mention a relief.

Oh. I am way too fond of too many Americans to do otherwise

I don’t know enough about Pete, but Imma do some homework. But it’s going to be Mike, for me. I feel like he’s the one person who can take on Trump in a debate without giving in to all that childish bullshit. Trump doesn’t win debates, the other candidates simply lose them.

I’m glad someone agrees with me. The first comment I got I tossed in the trash. I so hate Trumpets, as stupid as he is. sigh GO MIKE!!!

You know what’s funny? Politically speaking, we most definitely differ. Although I am not the straight up (or down, depending on how you look at it) Republican that I used to be way back when. And yet, even back then I know we would have had a solid conversation on this stuff. Because the point is supposed to be to learn, to grow, to understand differences of opinion. Not to demean, the way most Trump people attempt to do.

He sets such a poor example by his unhinged behavior, so his followers mimic him. It’s scary. We need a competent leader, doesn’t matter what party he belongs to. I want another John Quincy Adams who said, I belong to no party, I merely represent the people.

It’s very cultish, I agree.
And as far as the current political climate, I really don’t feel like partying. So let’s John Quincy Adams this thing into something worth being proud of.

I wish it were that easy. Cultish should go into the file.

I know what you mean. Yikes! Hang tough. As Boris Pasternak said: “And remember: you must never, under any circumstances, despair. To hope and to act, these are our duties in misfortune.”

Go Boris. There’s no future in despair, now that you mention it. Hope is tougher than we think. 🙂

Another Anne Lamott winner! I often wonder what God is thinking as He watches us do what we do…or don’t do.

He must be so busy. Sigh

I don’t know which way to turn. Our country is so divided. I believe in voting for the best candidate regardless of party.

Me too. This is not your normal election. The stakes seem so much higher. Sigh

Hmm. I kinda glad Warren is so angry. She pretty much single-handedly created the CFPB to help the average citizen avoid abuse by the mega-banks (that got bailed out by taxpayers for all their fraudulent shenanigans) and then she watched the MAGA administration essentially dismantle it. I’d be pissed, too. Frankly, I think she’s angry for the right reasons. If she wins, then she has a chance to prove she has the right stuff (again) without the stridency.

The problem I have is, doesn’t matter who, out of the 4, including Pete get the nomination. I don’t think they’ll beat Trump. That’s the issue for me, it’s why I’m rooting for Mike. He’s a smart man, and I can’t help being moved by his philanthropy. I’ve seen it first hand. We the people, shall see Eileen.

My one little vote won’t be deciding the nominee – and I do think she can beat T-rump. But I will support whoever the Dems choose, even (heaven forbid) Sanders.

I wish I had more faith. When I hear people I’ve known forever endorsing DJT, I’m speechless. I just don’t get it. If she did beat him, I’d be happy. I just don’t think she can. Sigh

PS Woke up thinking, your little vote means a lot. I’m just sayin. I think Tom Jefferson whispered that to me in a dream. 🙂

Other than admitting that I truly no longer support the man in the Oval Office (haven’t seen it, but it sounds like The Man in the High Tower, don’t it?) I withhold almost all comments for now…except for and exasperated, “OMG”.

It seems what we have at this point in time is a war of parties. It’s not about what is best or good for the country and its citizens. It’s party survival that is killing us. It won’t matter who is elected or re-elected the losing party will rant and rave until the next election. The hatred in this beautiful country is rampant and way too ugly. I believe people would be unhappy if God himself decided to run and won. Great balls of fire! Our country has been divided for a very long time and it’s getting worse. We should not call each other names…that is most unkind…city dwellers vs farmers and the country people. This group vs that group. Always at odds. It makes me want to lose whatever I have in my stomach. God is Love. Love makes the world go round. Love changes everything. Where is it??? I look into myself to find it and I’m going to make sure it is there. God says ‘Love your neighbor’ and He means everybody. We should all do our best to do so…whatever it takes. I certainly appreciate that God bats last. It’s a good thing and God always wins. I’m thankful He has me.

I have no argument with anything you’ve written. The word ugly jumps off the page like a toad.
