Awww. What a sweet little soul.
We had an institution of a restaurant close down. Was open since before WWII.. 85 years. The city is in shock

85 Years??? WOW!!! I’m sorry Dale. It’s as if a relative has died. That’s how it feels. sigh

Yeah. Moishes Steakhouse – to be honest, I felt it was way overrated but still. On the Main a block away from Schwartz’ – places you think will remain forever. There is talk they’ll reopen somewhere else. Which is weird

You never know. If I’ve learned anything during this, it’s that. Anything could happen.

It will just be weird to NOT be on “The Main” as we call St. Lawrence Street – or St-Laurent since the Quebec government went and Frenchified everything. Sigh.

Only time will tell what will be. I truly believe, one day we will awaken from this bad dream, after being humbled down to our socks.

This is true. And I wonder just how much gaslighting will occur, trying to convince us it was just that and not a reality…

That’s like telling those who survived the horrors of Hitler that they hallucinated..

And they do try, don’t they?

Oh yeah. It’s diminished, believe it or not. People want to forget, so they’ll want to forget this too as though it were blown all out of proportion. History, repeating itself. sigh

I know. As you say, dooming us to repeat as a result

I’m being awfully gloomy. We shall switch channels and hope for a brighter picture.

We’ve had lots of closures here in the north country too. It’s sad when a place you’ve frequented forever is gone because you can’t revisit you memories in person or make new ones. It’s the last page of a favorite book that you can never pick up and read again, you have to remember the words
I’m glad a gentleman rode to your side to comfort you…

What a beautiful story! Did Jonah talk very much while you were having frozen yogurt?

A great question. He didn’t. but he smiled a lot and paid rapt attention to everything around him as we sat on one of the benches that face the bustling avenue. I’d say a writer is in the making Anne. π

He sounds like a very caring person. I hope he will write beautifully some day.

He has a touch of the poet already. You know what else he did? He made sure nanny and me, both had napkins. Maybe he’ll be a decorator, or a chef…;)

A delightful story, Susannah. Nice to see manners being taught these days when so few have them. π

Yeah, he had them alright along with a matching heart. How does that happen anyway.

Good parents maybe?

Maybe it’s nanny’s influence. Many upper east parents aren’t very accessible to their kids. Who knows where Jonah’s goodness dwells from.

Well at least there is goodness no matter the source. π

Kids see the truths we have sadly become blind to. Their perspective will too soon become educated to the perils of a world where mistrust and cynicism reign. But for the moments when they show us how the world should behave.
